Your melody deserves richer chords.
Drop a melody and get five progressively richer harmonizations, from pop to jazz to cinematic, without ever leaving your browser.
A deterministic harmony engine. Same melody, same chords, every time.
Written by a musician with perfect pitch, encoding his own harmonic taste.
MIDI in, MIDI out. Everything you generate is yours, commercial use included.
Hear the difference
The same melody, twice. On the left, one plain chord. On the right, drag the complexity up and hear the same notes transform.
One chord, four bars. Technically correct, emotionally flat.
Level 5 · Advanced Reharm
Built like an instrument.
Everything in one window
A full piano roll, a synced chord track, live playback, and the harmonization panel. No DAW, no plugin, no install.
Built like an instrument.
Everything runs in the browser, from a bare melody to MIDI in your DAW.
Everything in one window
A full piano roll, a synced chord track, live playback, and the harmonization panel. No DAW, no plugin, no install.
Locked to your melody, bar for bar
The chord track sits directly under the roll on the same time axis. Move a note and the harmony follows it.
Same notes, two different songs
Level 1 keeps it to plain triads. Level 3 brings in borrowed chords and applied dominants. The melody never moved.
It works out the key
Including which flavour of minor the melody actually implies. Disagree and you can override it in one click.
In from anywhere, out to your DAW
Drop a MIDI file straight onto the page. Export the melody, the chords, or both as separate tracks when you are done.
“I have a melody. I know it needs better chords. I just don’t know which ones.”
- Chord pickers give you options, not answers.
- Theory tutorials explain, but never write the part for you.
- Generic generators ignore the melody you actually wrote.
Rechordly starts where your melody starts.
Five levels, one melody.
The same four bars, harmonized from plain pop triads up to advanced reharmonization. Each level adds harmonic richness while staying true to the melody.
Pop Basic
Plain triads drawn straight from the key. Every melody note sits inside its chord. This is the harmonization most listeners already expect.
Pop + 7ths
The same skeleton enriched to diatonic sevenths, note by note, and the final V resolves through a sus4 first. More color, same harmonic path.
Modal Interchange
A secondary ii-V tonicizes the IV chord, a borrowed V7/ii pulls toward ii, and a chromatic #ivø7 leans into the cadence. The melody never moved, but the harmony now has a point of view.
Functional Jazz
Secondary ii-V motion, an ascending passing diminished, and a suspended cadence drive the phrase forward. The changes now sound like a jazz standard.
Advanced Reharm
Constant-structure chords plane chromatically downward, so every melody note lands as a 9th, #11, or 13th rather than a root. Lush, cinematic, and outside the key without ever sounding random.
Everything your melody needs
A focused toolset for turning a bare melody into a finished progression, and for understanding every choice along the way.

Built by a musician who codes.
Most music tools are built by engineers who happen to like music. Rechordly is built by someone who grew up obsessing over reharmonization, voice leading, and why certain chord movements feel like coming home. The harmonic logic in this engine is not a dataset. It is a musical point of view, written down as code.
It started on a Casio keyboard. The built-in demo songs would play a tune straight through, then repeat it with richer, stranger, more beautiful chords underneath. Same melody, completely different feeling. Rechordly is an attempt to bottle that moment: the quiet shock of hearing a song you know bloom into something deeper.
Guitar, drums, bass, a school band, a few years producing bad then decent EDM: the ear came first, the vocabulary came later. Beatboxing is what closed the gap. Stacking layers of nothing but voice into a full arrangement, acapella covers built entirely from takes of myself, is ear training with nowhere to hide. You learn what a chord is doing by having to be it.

Questions
No. Drop in a melody and you get usable chord progressions immediately. The theory is there if you want it, since Explain Mode annotates every chord, but it stays out of your way otherwise.
